Cell phones and personal digital devices, including earbuds and headphones will remain in the student’s locker during the academic day from 8:05 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
-
Students who need to be in contact with their family can ask permission from a staff member to use one of Columbia Academy’s school phones. Parents are also welcome to contact our main office if there is a message that needs to be relayed to the student.
-
Students assume the risk of damage, theft, or loss when choosing to bring a phone or other electronic device to school.

-
Checking in with or responding to family members
-
Sending and receiving appropriate communications with friends
-
Sharing school appropriate materials with friends
-
Translation support for classmates learning English
-
- Cell phone use of any kind is not permitted in locker rooms, bathrooms, or any other space where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy.
- Using cell phones to record or take photos of staff members is not allowed without permission.
- Using social media, apps, or any other function of a cell phone/device, such as recording or taking photos, to spread rumors, bully, harass, make fun of, exclude, create a disruption in school, on the bus, or during after-school activities that has a nexus to the school is not permitted.
